It is truely remarkable to see M.J. as I remember him (...Off the Wall-era), Ray Charles and the others. Dylan, Lauper and Kim Carnes- what's left to say about them. Springsteen squeezes out a couple excretions as well. Billy Joel looks sober, and Dan Akroyd only takes up one parking space. No overt self-indulgence though, egos were left at the door. All in all, a masterful collaboration brought together at the baton of Quincy Jones. This original stands alone.

Seeing today's and yesterdays We are the World is amazing. But it's sad that many people who see this will only recognize Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

This makes me cry partly because it's an amazing song sang by top notch passionate singers and partly cos I realize how crappy some singers these days are...I mean WTF were thy thnkin putting "those" people in the remake. Sad.

I have the 45" record from way back! I loved this when it came out. But we also laughed- these mostly spoiled rich singers spouting "We are the world"! Well, -maybe to them! ;)
