In the documentary, "Champions Forever," George Foreman--a big Quarry fan-- recalled this fight, stating that "Jerry Quarry was giving to to Joe Frazier like ti was nuthin'." The implication being that he was in awe of how Joe took that brutal body and head pasting by Jerry.

Jerry was at his best in this fight. If he had fought ANYONE else that night, he would have kicked their ass big fuckin' time. Jimmy Ellis probably shit his pants watching Quarry in this fight, thinking how he escaped with his life barely beating Quarry who went all 15 rounds with a broken back.

The guy you SHOULD be afraid of is Manny Pacquiao. THAT guy is a BEAST! Pound for pound he'd SHRED the Klitschkos. Of all the guys fighting right now, I think he is one of the ones that could have fought in any time period. The guy is a WARRIOR!

WAAAY wrong! There WERE big fighters back then that moved a LOT like the Klitsckos... and they got HAMMERED! Just a big, slow moving target for the guys that could really fight. There was a BIG guy back in the 70's Mike Garrahan 6'6" 250 lbs. They said he was too big, but he was fast! Look him up. He would have DESTROYED the Klitscko's. Nice guy when sober... really sad. Undefeated when he got into law trouble - missed 4 years and wasn't the same when he came back. 10-3 career all by KO/TKO.
